Weber for Lloyd — a dining suite of extraordinary rarity and historical significance, acquired from the estate of a distinguished Cleveland collector.

Karl Emanuel Martin "Kem" Weber (1889–1963) and the Lloyd Manufacturing Company of Menominee, Michigan together produced some of the most important tubular chrome furniture in American design history. Lloyd — best known today for Lloyd Loom wicker furniture — was also a significant fabricator of tubular steel furniture in the 1930s, and their collaboration with Weber yielded pieces now held in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, LACMA, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Smithsonian Institution.

A set of six matching dining armchairs by Weber for Lloyd is an exceptional find. Individual Weber/Lloyd chairs occasionally appear at specialist auction; a complete set of six from a single provenance is genuinely rare. At 21 inches wide and 19¼ inches deep, these are dining-scale chairs — designed to accompany a dining table as a complete Weber interior program. The vinyl upholstery is a replacement (original vinyl has been replaced) and shows surface wear and scratches; chrome shows oxidation throughout. Both are fully restorable.

Designer: K.E.M.
