A significant and rare collection of six original lithographic color posters by some of the greatest masters of 20th-century art — Picasso, Miró, and Matisse — from the celebrated French Posters Portfolio, published by the Museum Prints Society, circa 1950.

This is six of the original eight posters in the portfolio — a rare survival of a mid-century publication series that brought the work of France's most celebrated artists into printed form at large scale.

Exceptional Provenance — Two Layers of Museum History:

1. From the Estate of Gil and Lila Silverman, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan — distinguished private collectors whose collection was of sufficient importance to be acquired by a major American art institution
2. The Property of the Detroit Institute of Arts — deaccessioned for the benefit of the museum, meaning these passed through the collection of one of America's premier art museums
