A rare and important collection of 8 original color lithographs by Joan Miró (Spanish, 1893–1983), each hand-signed by the artist in pencil or crayon and accompanied by an individual Certificate of Authenticity from Collectors Comp Inc. — extracted from the celebrated 1965 exhibition catalogue Miró: Cartones 1959–1965, published by the Pierre Matisse Gallery, New York, printed at the Atelier Daniel Jacomet, Paris, with original lithograph covers by Fernand Mourlot.

The Cartones catalogue was produced for the October–November 1965 exhibition at the Pierre Matisse Gallery, one of the most important Miró exhibitions of the decade, with an essay titled "The Silence of Miró" by the distinguished art critic Pierre Schneider. Printed in 1965 at the Atelier Daniel Jacomet in an edition of 1,200, the catalogue featured color pochoir reproductions of Miró's "Cartones" — his cardboard paintings of 1959–1965, a pivotal body of work bridging his painting and sculptural practices.

Pierre Matisse (1900–1989), son of Henri Matisse, represented Miró in the United States from 1932 and produced publications that are today considered landmarks of 20th-century art book history. Each catalogue printed under his gallery's name was crafted with the same rigor and care as the artworks themselves.
