Kadishman's sheep imagery is inseparable from his legacy. Beginning in the 1980s, the sheep became his signature motif — appearing on canvases, sculptures, prints, and eventually the walls and sidewalks of Tel Aviv itself. He represented Israel at the Venice Biennale in 1978.
