MCM-060 Pair of Vintage Aluminum Modernist Side Table Bases, c.1970s
A handsome pair of vintage aluminum modernist side table bases from the 1970s — clean-lined, architectural pedestals that epitomize the era's enthusiasm for industrial materials in residential interiors.
Aluminum pedestal bases of this type were produced throughout the late 1960s and 1970s by a range of American and European furniture manufacturers as versatile components for custom or modular table configurations. Paired with a glass, marble, or stone top — cut to specification — they become fully functional, highly stylish side tables suited to a wide range of interiors from period MCM to contemporary spaces. The circular top platform and tapered pedestal form are consistent with production from manufacturers working in the tradition of Eero Saarinen's iconic Tulip table base, which inspired countless interpretations throughout the decade.
Sold as bases only — tops not included. The 17" diameter top platform accommodates a wide variety of standard cut-to-size top options.
