FUR-062 Paul Evans — Signed "Cityscape" Chrome Floating Console & Mirror Frame, Original, 72" Mirror + 36" Console

A rare and important original Paul Evans Cityscape chrome plated steel floating console and mirror frame — signed "An Original Paul Evans" — the companion piece to our Paul Evans Cityscape headboard (FUR-061), both acquired from the same source and almost certainly from the same original bedroom suite. Together these two pieces represent an exceptional and increasingly rare opportunity to acquire a partial Paul Evans Cityscape bedroom suite with documented signatures on both pieces.

Paul Evans (1931–1987) is one of the most significant American furniture designers and sculptor-craftsmen of the postwar era. His Cityscape series — the iconic tessellated chrome and brass patchwork inspired by the Manhattan skyline — is among the most actively collected American design work of the 20th century. Complete Cityscape bedroom suites have achieved auction records exceeding $99,000 at Wright, Rago, and Phillips. The mirror frame alone — at a dramatic 72 inches tall — is one of the most striking elements of the Cityscape suite.

Please note: the mirror frame is sold without the original mirror glass. A custom mirror can be cut to fit at modest cost, restoring the piece to full presentation.
